Awarded Best Band of 2015 by the Miami New Times, Bluejay is a passionate, electro-acoustic trio led by the androgynous voice & dreamlike guitar of singer-songwriter Jay Thomas, backed by his sister JoJo Sunshine (drums/synth), and his partner Oscar Quesada (cello/beats). Their avant-garde, genre-bending songs invoke magical realism with powerful three-part harmonies, dynamic arrangements, and spirited lyrics. Bluejay has performed at festivals including III Points, TransAtlantic, Virginia Key GrassRoots, and the Harvey Milk Festival. They have also be seen playing late-night sets at dance clubs in Wynwood, Downtown, South Beach, and Brickell. From their costumes to their shady banter, you never know what to expect at a Bluejay concert, but you will be entertained!
Currently, Jay Thomas is performing and recording with Oscar Quesada (cello/beats) and Fredrick Reese (bass) under his own name, Jay Thomas.
JoJo Sunshine is currently performing and recording her own new material as Zjolie.
